Musical Bio

Stephen Clarke is a guitarist and singer with a refined, acoustic jazz style.  He has performed professionally over the last 15 years in pub and café settings, corporate functions, festivals and special events.

The sensitive vocals and polished, rhythmic chord structures characteristic of Stephen's performance are well suited to intimate settings and private functions, while still having enough presence to fill a stage when required.

As well as offering a straight solo act, Stephen can incorporate the use of a loop pedal into most songs, allowing instrumentals to be layered over the top of the accompaniment.  This creates a richer, more varied overall performance, similar to a duo, and this can be heard in the first three sample songs to the left.

Public performances over recent times have included the Jazz Food and Wine Festival at Shoal Bay; providing the support act for Grace Knight; the reopening celebrations at Fort Scratchley; and headlining the successful Sound Waves at Mayfield Pool event in the 2011 and the forthcoming 2012 seasons.

Stephen has applied his knowledge and experience of music to the development of the acclaimed ChordWizard® family of software products for music education and composition.  Stephen also takes a keen interest in the local music industry, and has been a judge in the Jazz category of the 1233 ABC Music Awards for many years.
